Barnsley Central Library will be offering local readers the opportunity to meet two authors on Friday September 4th at 5.30pm. Rotherham-born author Catherine King will be speaking about her family stories, which are set in the North-East of England and are written in the down-to-earth tradition of Catherine Cookson. She will be joined by fellow writer Jean Fullerton, whose debut novel “No Cure for Love” won the Harry Bowling Award for a novel set in London ,and which portrays the dark underworld of Victorian London
Both authors will be discussing their work and answering questions about their books. Copies of books by both of the speakers will be available to buy and have signed.
Derrick Taylor, Assistant Director Access to Services said, “Barnsley Libraries are delighted to be hosting this unique event. In these credit crunch days it seems appropriate that we are able to offer a two for one event”
To book a place to meet Catherine King and Jean Fullerton- the event is free but places ARE limited- please contact Jill Craven, Reader Development Officer on 01226 773921 or e mail JillCraven@barnsley.gov.uk
